School Committees

The Schoolsite Council (SSC) is a decision-making group of parents, students, school staff, and administrators. The SSC participates in determining how funds are allocated to the school, and develops, monitors, and evaluates the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). The SSC evaluates the effectiveness of programs in increasing student achievement by reviewing student achievement data, coordinating with the School English Learner Advisory Committee (SELAC) to review programs for English Learners, and reviewing the use of Supplemental and Title I funds to support target populations. Each school with 21 or more students classified as English Learners will have an established English Learners Advisory Committee, which may be a subcommittee of the School Site Council (SSC). The School English Learner Advisory Committee (SELAC) is a school-based committee that advises the principal and staff on programs and services for English Learners.

The SELAC also submits a site plan for English Learners to the Schoolsite Council for consideration in the School Plan for Student Achievement. At least two members of the SELAC represent the school in the District English Learners Advisory Committee (DELAC) and attend monthly DELAC meetings. Gunderson High School's SELAC voted to give over their governance to the SSC on 9-18-23 and this will be in effect for the 23-24 and 24-25 school years.  The SSC-SELAC meets once per month.  The meeting is open to the public.  Meetings are held in Room D-3.  Please contact the school for more information.
